Speaking of unusual weather. It snowed in Hawaii yesterday.
The Guardian reported this morning that a weather system brought powerful waves and snow to Hawaii on Monday. Snow blanketed Polipoli Spring State Park on the island of Maui. Four foot drifts were reported in the park which is at 6,200 feet. This makes it, likely, the lowest elevation to ever have snow in Hawaii. Granted, the volcanic peaks throughout Hawaii periodically get a dusting; but, four foot drifts!
The Guardian also indicated that Honolulu’s Weather Service reported that waves measuring 60 feet battered areas north of Oahu.
Snow in Hawaii.
